Discover Nature Schools Science Fair Winners Announced
The 2016 Discover Nature Schools Science Fair gives Missouri’s K-12 students a chance to get hands-on while learning about nature.
This year’s winners of the program have been announced. The four school winners are Hurley Elementary, Matthew Cook of Lincoln R2 Elementary, Amaya Marion of St. James, and Oakville High School. Read about what the winning projects were below.
Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, Oh My!

The Weber Road Branch of St. Louis County Library was all abuzz with an “A-MAZE-ing Cockroaches” show this past Monday evening. Actually, there was less buzzing and lot more hissing at the creepy-crawly event.
The Great Race For Modern Transit
Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) is holding its fifth annual Great Race competition on Thursday, May 12, 2016.
Kim Cella, executive director of CMT, is the guest on this edition of “Behind the Editor’s Curtain” with Don Corrigan.
Corrigan and Cella discuss the meaning behind the race, the positive environmental impacts of public transportation, and he might even try to uncover a few race strategy ideas from Cella.

Carl Campbell Publishes 646th Climate Letter
Carl Campbell, a retired petroleum investment advisor, spends every morning searching the internet for climate and environmental information. By early afternoon, he releases an analysis of his most important finds in a daily newsletter called “Carl’s Climate Letters.”
This past week, Campbell released his 646th climate letter. Here is an excerpt from the current letter.
Local Event: Climate Change Solutions and Communications
The Eastern Missouri Group Sierra Club will be hosting a panel discussion on Climate Change, Climate Solutions, and How to Communicate Climate issues. The event is being held on Thursday, April 28, at 7 p.m., at the Sierra Club Headquarters located at 2818 Sutton, Maplewood, MO 6314.
This is a unique opportunity, not only to learn about how to communicate climate but also to discuss it and ask questions directly to leaders and professionals about how to talk with others about climate change. (See a list of panel participants below.)
