St. Louis, MO– Yesterday evening, Environment Missouri hosted the St. Louis Renewable Energy Summit. The event welcomed panelists Jack Cardetti- political consultant for Clean Line Energy Partners, Dr. Allison Miller- professor at Saint Louis University and research associate at the Missouri Botanical Gardens, David Crossley- Professor of geophysics at Saint Louis University, and Fredrick Doss- Legislative Assistant to Representative Michael Butler, to discuss global warming, its impacts in Missouri, and the role of renewable energy in creating a sustainable future.
Environment Missouri, in partnership with Care About Climate, will hold the St. Louis Renewable Energy Summit to highlight the urgent need to rapidly shift from dirty to clean energy sources. The Summit will feature a panel of experts who will lead a discussion on renewable energy from a variety of perspectives.

The collection of 19,200 Deer harvest tissue samples were collected from 29 Missouri counties during the opening weekend of fall firearms deer season. The samples will help the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) evaluate next steps in chronic-wasting-disease management efforts.

“Physical deer counts done over the course of several winters indicate the deer population is much greater than what is considered ecologically sound,” noted Yegge. “When deer numbers are high, other plant and wildlife species may struggle to survive or disappear all together.”
