The nonprofit conservancy Forest Park Forever and the City of St. Louis’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry will host a free public event from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, in the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center in Forest Park. At the third annual Under the Clock Tower: State of Forest Park Community Gathering, Park leadership will fill the public in on the latest happenings in Forest Park and answer questions from event attendees. The event will be emceed by Fox 2’s Jasmine Huda.

Join MCE for a conversation on our rivers with Tony Messenger of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and our retiring Big Rivers Director, Brad Walker. Tony will facilitate a conversation with Brad, who will reflect on how we allowed our rivers to be abused and suggest ways forward to restore and repair the damage.

Bird buffs, falcon fanciers, and anyone enraptured by raptors is invited to meet the objects of their admiration close up at An Evening with Raptors.

An Evening with Raptors is a free event hosted by the Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center in Kirkwood. It takes place Friday, Jan. 26 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is open to all ages.

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has announced that the Maple Sugar Festival at Rockwoods Reservation will be back in 2018.  The festival took a year off in 2017 due to a construction project in the area.

The family-friendly event will take place Saturday, Feb. 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and is open to the public at no cost.

The Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) Powder Valley Nature Center will welcome accomplished Missouri nature and wildlife photographer Matt Miles for a special presentation on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.  Miles, who recently published the book MissouriWild and Wonderful, will share some of his spectacular photographs on the video wall in Powder Valley’s auditorium as he discusses his experiences during 20 years of photographing outdoor Missouri.
