The Missouri Department of Conservation’s Rockwoods Reservation hosts programs for infants and toddlers this Summer!
“Babes in the Woods” programs will be held from 10-11 a.m. each third Wednesday of the month through September. MDC naturalists will focus on a new topic each month. Each session will include hands-on touch tables, song time, outdoor walks, story time, and more. Siblings are welcome to attend, too.

Whether it’s language, math, science, or nature, the sooner young minds begin the quest for knowledge the more it will become part of who they are for a lifetime. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is offering a chance to get kids off to a great start in the outdoors with its Babes in the Woods monthly programs this summer at Rockwoods Reservation.
These are special outings designed specifically for kids from infants to three-year-old toddlers. Every month, young explorers will learn about different nature-related topics. Part of the class will take place outside, giving children real-life outdoor learning experiences.
Since parts of the classes are outdoors, parents and guardians are encouraged to make sure all who attend are prepared for the weather.
Programs this summer include:
July 18—Aquatics
Aug. 15—Birds
Sept. 12—Monarch butterflies
Rockwoods Reservation is located at 2751 Glencoe Road, off Highway 109 between I-44 and Highway 100.
