CLEANER AIR GETS A WIN IN LOCAL COURT CASE; CONSUMERS WEIGH IN ON UTILITY RATE HIKES
Consumers and environmentalists were “loaded for bear” for a public hearing at the Holiday Inn Southwest in late January before the state Public Service Commission (PSC) on planned electric rate hikes by Ameren Missouri.
Environmentalists like Andy Knott of the Beyond Coal Campaign were ready with news of a Jan. 23 court decision finding Ameren in violation of the Clean Air Act at its Rush Island coal plant in Jefferson County. Found in Carl’s Climate Letters …
Here is an interesting tidbit from Carl that he found in his daily environmental information search about what scientists have learned from a preserved 45 million-year-old fly – which just might lead to more efficient “energy harvesting” in solar cells.
Carl Campbell, who is a retired petroleum investment advisor, spends every morning searching for climate and environmental information. By early afternoon, he releases an analysis of his most important finds of the day in a newsletter named Carl’s Climate Letters.
