The Executive Director of earthday365 released information about this years Earth Day Festival. Please read his letter below.
A Letter From the Executive Director,
At earthday365, we put a priority on good citizenship. In order to limit the potential spread of COVID-19, at this moment, being a good citizen is not consistent with hosting the St. Louis Earth Day Festival on April 25th & 26th. For this reason, and under the guidance of the Public Health Department, we must announce the postponement of the 50th Anniversary St. Louis Earth Day Festival.
We are working to determine the best date and location to host a celebration later in 2020, and will follow up with that information as soon as possible. We salute our sponsors Centene, Missouri American Water, Subaru, the City of St. Louis, Great Rivers Greenway, MSD Project Clear, Renewal by Anderson, RideFinders, and Metro Lighting, who continue to offer their support during this time of uncertainty.
In the short term, we plan to create a Virtual Earth Day Festival at http://www.earthday-365.org during the week of April 18-26. Please join us there to celebrate the worldwide 50th Anniversary of Earth Day together safely.
We at earthday365 understand that the ripple effects from postponing such a large event are far-reaching, and we have a huge amount of gratitude for the level of understanding and empathy shown so far by everyone affected by this news. Our sustainability community has shown that they can pull together to demonstrate the kind of resiliency needed in the face of uncertainty that we seek to cultivate in the wider world.
Yours in resilience,
Dr. Jess Watson

50th Anniversary St. Louis Earth Day Festival Postponed! It’s time to get out the old Spirit vinyl, put it on the turntable, and play: “It’s Nature’s Way of Telling You.” Who remembers that song?
