Go Wild At The Saint Louis Zoo This Holiday Season

A wild, arctic wonderland with over 1 million twinkling holiday lights and festive family fun awaits you at U.S. Bank Wild Lights at the Saint Louis Zoo!

 2019 Event Dates –  Wild Lights is open from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the following dates: Friday-Sunday, Nov. 29-Dec.1 and Wednesday-Sunday, Dec. 4-8.

Monday, Dec. 9, is Sensory Night for individuals on the autism spectrum and others who may benefit from a sensory-friendly experience nightly, Dec. 11-23 and nightly, Dec. 26-30.

The Zoo will close to the public at 4 p.m. each day of Wild Lights. Doors reopen at  5:30 p.m. for the event.

Tickets: Advance online ticket purchase is strongly encouraged for this popular event. Tickets are available in advance at stlzoo.org/wildlights starting in mid-November, or at the door on nights of the event beginning at 5:30 p.m. Ticket sales and event entrances will close at 8 p.m. Free parking is available on Zoo parking lots during event hours.

– Monday-Thursday: $8/members, $9/non-members
– Friday-Sunday: $10/members, $11/non-members
– Sensory Night on Dec. 9: $8/members, $9/non-members
– Children under age 2 are free

Holiday Lights & Activities: Be enchanted by whimsical animal-themed displays throughout the Zoo, including Swan Lake, Starry Safari, Sparkling Savanna, Jungle Bell Rock and more.

Romantics can stroll through the Zoo to the new Lovebirds Lookout area overlooking the lake for a beautiful view of Wild Lights and a special, heart-warming photo opportunity. Enter your Lovebirds Lookout photos in the Zoo’s Instagram contest using hashtags #ILoveZoo and #USBankWildLights for a chance to win tickets to the Zoo’s upcoming Untamed Hearts Valentine’s Dinner in February. Contest details are available at stlzoo.org/wildlights.

Visit with the cool birds at Penguin & Puffin Coast and warm up in the tropics of the Bayer Insectarium to see colorful insects from around the world. Please note that these are the only animal exhibits open at night during the event.

Kids can take part in winter crafts and activities and meet costumed characters. Enjoy holiday carolers and other strolling live performances on weekend nights.

Climb aboard your favorite animal on the Mary Ann Lee Conservation Carousel. Chill out in the 4D Theater featuring “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 4D.” These attractions are free with event admission and operate weather permitting.

Food & Shopping: Roast your own campfire s’mores (available for purchase) at one of the fire pits. Enjoy dinner, snacks, hot chocolate, holiday drinks and more, available at food locations throughout the Zoo.

Shop for a variety of unique gifts at Zoo gift shops and receive a 10 percent discount on any purchase; Zoo members receive a 20 percent discount.

Group Rate for 15 or more: Groups of 15 or more may receive a group rate of $8/person on weekdays and $10/person on weekends. Group tickets must be ordered in advance (starting in mid-November) and placed by 11 a.m. on the evening you plan to attend. Group tickets for Saturday and Sunday nights must be ordered by 11 a.m. on the Friday before the weekend event. To order group tickets, call (314) 646-4781 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday only.

Sensory Night Dec. 9: Monday, Dec. 9, is Sensory Night for individuals on the autism spectrum and others who may benefit from a sensory-friendly experience. This special night will mirror the traditional Wild Lights experience, but the evening will offer quiet areas and trained Zoo staff to assist families.
