The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has announced that the Maple Sugar Festival at Rockwoods Reservation will be back in 2018. The festival took a year off in 2017 due to a construction project in the area.
The family-friendly event will take place Saturday, Feb. 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and is open to the public at no cost.

The Rockwoods Maple Sugar Festival is an excellent opportunity for families to break free of cabin fever and learn skills to collect, boil, and create their own maple syrup or sugar while they still have several weeks of the season to try it out. As always, the event includes demonstrations on both historic and modern methods of maple production that will engage visitors in a fun and interactive way. Free samples of all-natural maple syrup and sugar will be offered.
MDC’s Rockwoods Reservation is located in Wildwood at 2751 Glencoe Road, off Highway 109 between I-44 and Highway 100. Visitors should note that parking for persons with disabilities only will be available on-site. All other parking will be off-site at Pond Elementary (17200 Manchester Road) and the St. Louis Community College-Wildwood Campus (2645 Generations Drive). Shuttle buses to the event will be provided.
