A public open house is scheduled to update the community on recommendations from the Forest Park Great Streets project team, gather feedback and answer questions.
When: Thursday, October 19, 9:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Who: East-West Gateway Council of Governments, the City of St. Louis Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry, and the nonprofit conservancy Forest Park Forever
Where: Trolley Room in the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center, 5595 Grand Drive in Forest Park.
Members of the public are encouraged to stop by this drop-in Open House anytime between 9:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m. to view recommendations developed by the project team and give input and suggestions for consideration.
The purpose of the Forest Park Great Streets study is to recommend implementable projects and policies to improve regional and local access to Forest Park, improve multi-modal circulation and parking within the Park and recommend supportive land use strategies to address the needs of the diverse Park users.
By applying the Great Streets approach to Forest Park, the result will be a vision and roadmap for how to improve the “total park experience” for all who come to visit and enjoy the numerous amenities in Forest Park.
