The race is on to find solutions and inform the public about a disease killing millions of bats in the United States – White-Nose Syndrome. The disease continues to spread and has been reported in 25 states, including Missouri.

Sights and Sounds At Webster’s Sustainability Conference 2015

Webster students had a chance to learn about sustainability issues from vendors, seminars and other events at the 4th Annual Sustainability Conference held, March 27 – 28, in the East Academic Building. The theme for the event was “Strange Connections: Innovation for Sustainability.”

Egg-laying chickens and chicken coops are no longer a sight seen only in rural areas. Coops are popping up in suburban backyards like Webster and Kirkwood. Sustainability and a desire to reconnect with natural food sources seems to be driving the popularity of keeping the feathery egg-laying pets.

The Illinois General Assembly Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) met on Sept. 16, 2014 to discuss revisions for the second draft of the Hydraulic Fracturing Regulatory Act.  This act will introduce rules and regulations on hydraulic fracturing for the extraction of natural gas and oil in Illinois.
