‘Yes For Our Parks!’ Campaign Wants To Protect St. Louis County Parks

Below is a letter from a concerned citizen and advocate for Prop 2. Please take a moment to read why she and several environmental and park preservation organizations started the ‘Yes For Our Parks!’ campaign to promote voter passage of Proposition 2 on the November 6 ballot in St. Louis County.

“If approved by voters, it will protect our County parks from being sold or disposed of without a vote of the people and provides county voters with a say over major changes to our parkland.”

Vote Yes on St.Louis County Proposition 2 for Our Parks

On November 6 th , St.Louis County voters will have the opportunity to vote yes on Proposition 2. If approved by voters, it will protect our County parks from being sold or disposed of without a vote of the people and provides county voters with a say over major changes to our parkland.

Observing the process of how this came about was truly an inspiring experience for me. Voices of concern from several well-known nonprofit environmental and park preservation organizations were echoed by numerous residents calling for a park system free from political folly and inconsistent park developments. These voices were heard by the St. Louis County Council. They agreed to work with those concerned voices in crafting a workable solution which you now see as Proposition 2.

The St. Louis County Council has approved it unanimously. St. Louis County Proposition 2 exemplifies the values I believe our nation was founded on and that bind us together as Americans. Here we have government and citizens working constructively together on bipartisan solutions that represent the best interests for all. As chaotic as the world around us may seem right now, let us celebrate this opportunity where the shared value of government and citizens working together for positive change was realized.

Now it is our turn to be a part of this historic opportunity by uniting together to preserve and protect the St.Louis County Parks we treasure and to support the St.Louis County Council with a Yes vote to Proposition 2 on November 6th.
