I was invited to be the keynote speaker at an interfaith event this week. The event, “Make a Bigger Difference: Environmental Action for Your Life, Your Community, and Your House of Worship” had a great audience. They were engaged and asked some insightful and interesting questions.

Don Interfaith event CrowdOne of the speakers, who gave an environmental update, was Sister Barbara Jennings, CSJ, Director, Midwest Coalition for Responsible Investment Steering Committee, Missouri Interfaith Power & Light.

Jennings said  environmental issues are so tied up with social, political and cultural aspects that it can be difficult to separate it all. She also spoke about Pope Francis’ encyclical and his remarks about climate change.

“The Pope does not come with all the answers, but unless we struggle with the deeper issues,” Jennings said. “We will not have successful results.”
