Green Mothers Organizing For Marches In April To Support Scientists & Climate Action

Daisies to Sarah Finnie Robinson, who argues that GREEN MOTHERS are rising up to demand climate action to protect their children and grandchildren from the serious effects already apparent from global warming. Conscientious mothers are aware that 2016 heat has broken the temperature records of 2015; that concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere continue to increase at new records; that ice sheets around the world are diminishing and this past November saw new warm ocean records set; that climate change is leading to more intense storms, flooding and landslides especially on the coasts. Watch for GREEN MOTHERS rising up in April for marches in support of scientific knowledge and the environment. Robinson is a founding partner of WeSpire, which promotes science-based behavior change. She serves on the climate preparedness committee of Boston Harbor and is a scholar with the Aspen Institute Environment Forum.
Daggers to U.S. Rep. Ann Wagner, who says: “The field of climate science is in its relative infancy and it appears that some within the public policy world have made dubious assessments of scientific information in order to further their own political agenda. Our policy response to this dilemma should not be based on inconsistent and unsound science or driven by the fear of a supposed catastrophe.” Wagner has allies in her denials of climate science in the Missouri Congressional delegation with Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO-04) and Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO-03) who says we are actually undergoing a period of worldwide cooling, an assertion that scientists have found to be totally illegitimate and unwarranted. Temperatures in the first two months of 2017 already are breaking previous records of the past decade and make Luetkemeyer’s global cooling theories, well, laughable.
